AMN - GHANA: IronRidge prepares for lithium drilling

IronRidge Resources is undertaking earthworks in preparation for a maiden drilling program at the Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana. The company expects to complete around 7,000 metres of reverse circulation and diamond drilling in up to 60 holes.

The program at the pegmatite deposit is expected to get underway in late April or early May with approvals received.

All community consultations and landholder negotiations have been completed and a dozer mobilised to site to begin drill access and drill pad construction.

IronRidge has re-interpreted the pegmatite geology after completing a detailed, high-confidence surface geology map. This was made possible after 32 trenches and 428 pits were dug.

Three well-defined pegmatite zones have been identified with a combined 1600 metre strike and the largest single pegmatite is over 800 metres long and up to 90 metres wide at surface.

High-grade lithium results at Ewoyaa from surface trenching include 65 metres at 1.1% Li2O, 25 metres at 1.62% Li2O, 18 metres at 1.67% Li2O and 4.5 metres at 2.2% Li2O.

The company has renewed the forest entry permit and submitted an exploration licence for Egyasimanku Hill. Field teams are on site and mapping is underway, facilitated by historical geological survey maps, which have been recovered.

Chief executive officer Vincent Mascolo said: "We have worked closely with our partners to secure the necessary approvals to allow us to commence earthworks and drilling, the next crucial step in confirming Ewoyaa as a significant lithium discovery.

"Additionally, we have diligently used the intervening time to advance the portfolio - establishing a local office, community consultations and detailed orientation surveys over known deposit footprints to provide a cost-effective blueprint for future exploration success and discovery over our portfolios in Ghana and Ivory Coast."
