AMN - GUINEA: Kankan gold zone extended

Predictive Discovery has received encouraging new soil sampling results from its Kankan Gold Project in Guinea’s Siguiri Basin. There were 306 samples collected and four plus-100ppb anomalies were identified.

The results are from infill and extension soil sampling programs on a soil geochemical anomaly which is now known to be 7 kilometres long with a peak value of 570ppb gold.

These results form part of Predictive’s ongoing 2019 Guinea exploration campaign with good progress made at the Boroto, Yomadou, Nonta and Kankan projects.

The company holds about 500 square kilometre of highly prospective ground in this emerging world-class gold region. Also within the Siguiri Basin is AngloGold’s large Siguiri Mine, which hosts more than 10 million ounces of gold.

Predictive Discovery managing director Paul Roberts said: “Our optimism that the Kankan project will contain significant bedrock gold mineralisation is growing as each exploration phase reveals higher value gold-in-soil trends within the 7-kilometre zone.

“Our early stage programs are designed to vector down on targets for follow-up drilling programs, which the company plans to undertake after the wet season.

“The Kankan results further confirm the high regional prospectivity for gold mineralisation within multiple exploration projects across the company’s 100% owned Guinea landholdings.”

Work will continue during the rainy season from July to October with the aim of narrowing down on targets at the Kankan project for follow-up drilling after the wet season.

This will include:

• An additional phase of infill soil sampling, tightening the sample density to 200 x 25 metres to assist with identification of follow-up drill targets;

• Regolith mapping and pitting to help interpret the geochemical results;

• XRF analysis of soil samples, specifically titanium/zirconium ratios, to help map underlying rock types; and

• A possible ground magnetic survey to help identify underlying mineralised structures controlling the distribution of higher tenor gold-in-soil anomalies.

Predictive also recently received thick, high-grade results from drilling at the Ferkessedougou North gold project (Toro JV), located in northern Cote D’Ivoire.

The results, which exceeded company expectations, confirmed a new gold discovery at the Ouarigue South prospect.

Best results were 45.3 metres at 3.16 g/t gold from 45.9 metres including 9 metres at 10.31 g/t; 45.0 metres at 1.52 g/t from 42.1 metres; and 39.7 metres at 3.54 g/t from 51.4 metres including 4.5 metres at 11.00 g/t.
