Algold Resources has received more assay results from diamond and reverse circulation drilling at the Tijirit Gold Project in Mauritania. The results continue to demonstrate the high-grade nature of the mineralisation, both near surface and at depth over the 3.4-kilometre strike length of Eleonore zone.
The drilling forms part of Algold’s Phase III 25,000-metre campaign. The program of 20,000 metres of diamond drilling and 5000 metres of RC drilling was initiated on February 1 with the objective to further delineate the high-grade gold deposit. It is expected to be completed by the end of June
Better results include 3 metres @ 16.16 g/t gold approximately 55 metres below surface at Eleonore Central; 1 metre @ 36.09 g/t, including 0.5 metres @ 65 g/t 126 metres below surface and 1.25 metres @ 5.68 g/t 133 metres below surface in one hole at Eleonore South, and 1.1 metres @ 44.02 g/t 69 metres below surface in another hole; and 4.58 metres @ 1.55 g/t 28 metres below surface at Eleonore North.
These new results, combined with the structural and lithological information gathered from the drill core, further increase Algold's level of confidence with regard to the potential of the three main Eleonore zones. All three zones remain open along strike and at depth.
As of June 5, 6945 samples, excluding QA/QC and re-assays, from the Phase III program were sent to the SGS Bamako lab facility for analysis.
