AMN - TANZANIA: Strong Buckreef below pit gold results

Tanzanian Gold Corporation has received strong assay results of up to 1-metre at 50.54 g/t from below the open pit at the Buckreef Gold Project in Tanzania. The first set of results is from a deep level diamond core drilling program aimed at better defining potential mineralized zones below the pit.

Infill drilling within the open pit is continuing.

Significant intercepts reported from the first diamond hole below the pit bottom on the central section of the Buckreef Main Zone include:

• 13.2 metres at 4.57 g/t gold from 360 metres, including 2.5 metres at 21.74 g/t from 383 metres which included 1-metre grading 50.54 g/t at 384 metres;
• 8.0 metres at 4.88 g/t from 417 metres, including 4.4 metres at 8.29 g/t from 418 metres which included 1.2 metres at 12.82 g/t from 421.9 metres.

Assay results for a third mineralised zone at depths below 450 metres are expected soon from the assay lab.

Assay results from the ongoing reverse circulation infill drilling program within the open pit have been received for five additional holes. Significant intercepts include:

• 8 metres at 1.17 g/t from 61 metres and 3 metres at 1.08 g/t from 115 metres, including 2 metres at 1.55 g/t from 116 metres;
• 6 metres at 1.41 g/t from 15 metres, including 2 metres at 2.49 g/t from 16 metres; and
• 3 metres at 2.27 g/t from 55 metres, 3 metres at 1.45 g/t from 65 metres and 1-metre at 2.78 g/t from 76 metres.

Chairman Jim Sinclair said: “We are pleased with the first results from our deeper drilling below the open pit using core drilling to better define more robust mineralised zones that may extend below the pit bottom.

"Our infill drilling program in the open pit area has passed the mid-point of planned drilling, and, I believe, that the results will help move inferred resources into the measured and indicated categories."
