AMN - BURKINA FASO: Golden results from Bira drilling

Predictive Discovery has received encouraging results from an ongoing reverse circulation drill campaign on the Bira gold prospect, which is part of the Burkina Faso Joint Venture with Progress Minerals International.

The 5000-metre program is designed to validate earlier results reported by Anmercosa in the late 1990s and to explore for extensions to the south.

Best intersections from the initial 1,496 metres include 17 metres at 1.74 g/t gold from 2 metres, 27 metres at 1.83 g/t from 23 metres, 8 metres at 2.00 g/t from 101 metres, 16 metres at 1.15 g/t from 20 metres, 11 metres at 1.69 g/t from 54 metres and 8 metres at 1.69 g/t from 87 metres.

All holes assayed so far contain reportable gold values and mineralisation shows excellent continuity and is open along strike and at depth.

There is substantial potential along strike to the south indicated by encouraging power auger results.

Predictive’s managing director Paul Roberts said: “These new RC drill results confirm that the Bira gold mineralisation is highly consistent, continuous and open in all directions. In addition, the new power auger results indicate promising potential for over 3 kilometres to the south.

"The rapid progress and excellent results from Progress Minerals on our Burkina ground are very pleasing. We await the next batch of drill results with great interest.”

Predictive’s tenement holdings in Burkina Faso are in the east of the country and cover about 90km of strike length of the Samira Hill greenstone belt. This belt hosts the 2.5 million ounce Samira Hill gold deposit across the border in Niger and contains numerous active artisanal gold mine sites along its length.

The joint venture with Progress Minerals began on September 30, 2017. The agreement allows Progress to earn a 70% interest in all permits within the area of influence in eastern Burkina Faso by spending $US5 million on exploration and project evaluation.

The joint venture’s objective is to advance PDI’s eastern Burkina Faso prospects as quickly as possible towards a scoping study on a multi-pit mining operation feeding a central mill.
