AMN - COTE D’IVOIRE: Tietto discovers more Abujar gold

Tietto Minerals has discovered high‐grade gold mineralisation at the Abujar Potoco Prospect (APP), which is within the middle tenement of its Abujar Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire. The mineralisation is in a new shear zone parallel to and 900 metres east of the Abujar Pischon Golikro (APG) deposit.

Gold mineralisation in fresh rock at APP has been extensively exposed by large-scale artisanal workings.

A fresh rock sample from APP returned 50.8 g/t gold within an elevated gold zone and this is coincident with IP showing potential for a series of parallel gold veins within a new wide shear zone.

Based on these high‐grade rock samples encouraging geological and geophysical characteristics of the Potoco prospect; two drill programs have been designed to test Potoco.

The drill programs include 600 metres of scout diamond drilling and are planned to commence in mid‐July.

One of three Tietto‐owned diamond drill rigs has been mobilised to drill below the Potoco artisanal pit.

Step back and extensional diamond drilling to extend gold resources at the northern portion of Abujar Gludehi (AG) deposit is well progressed with assay results pending.

This program has been designed to extend the high‐grade core at AG deposit which hosts 1.06 million ounces of gold at 2.1 g/t.

Tietto managing director Dr Caigen Wang said: “We are very encouraged by the discovery of gold mineralisation at Potoco where fresh rock samples returned over 50 g/t gold within the large artisanal pit where gold veins in fresh rock have been exposed by artisanal mining activities.

“This discovery again demonstrates how much additional exploration is required within the 70km of continuous shear zone at Abujar as well as providing clear evidence of well mineralised parallel shear zones which may yield substantial increases to existing resources at Abujar.

“We are currently awaiting step back and extensional drill results at the northern end of AG, which should contribute to high-grade resources in the resource upgrade anticipated for late 2019.”

Focused, high impact exploration drilling programs have also been designed to test high-value targets identified from the company's systematic review of mapping, soil geochem, aeromagnetic and IP data. These programs are scheduled for completion before early in quarter four of 2019.

With the three Tietto-owned DD drill rigs and two auger rigs and one contractor AC/RC rig, the following drilling is scheduled to be completed in Q3:

  • 10,000 metres DD drilling;
  • 7,000 metres AC/RC drilling; and
  • 5,000 metres auger drilling.

In Q4:

  • 12,000 metres DD drilling;
  • 9,000 metres AC/RC drilling; and
  • 9,000 metres auger drilling.

Following completion of these substantial drilling programs, Tietto expects to deliver a further resource upgrade to its current JORC mineral resource estimates for the Abujar Gold Project in late 2019.
