AMN - MALI: Komet completes Kabaya zone drilling

Komet Resources has completed a drilling program on the Kabaya zone of the Dabia South permit in Mali, which was previously known as the Moussala project. Following verification of the analysed mineralogy results and of the density of material, Komet will prepare a preliminary resource calculation of the zone's near-surface portion.

There were 53 holes of reverse circulation (RC) drilling completed for a total of 4243 metres and 4233 samples were analysed in addition to 248 blanks, 249 standards and 249 duplicates.

Best results were 11 metres from 33 metres @ 1.65 g/t gold, including 2 metres from 37 metres @ 5.56 g/t; 19 metres from 51 metres @ 4.80 g/t, including 3 metres from 53 metres @ 12.23 g/t and 6 metres from 62 metres @ 8.24 g/t; 8 metres from 48 metres @ 2.29 g/t, including 2 metres from 51 metres @ 6.74 g/t; 62 metres from 0 metres @ 2.02 g/t, including 2 metres from 25 metres @ 9.76 g/t, 3 metres from 32 metres @ 8.19 g/t and 4 metres from 38 metres @ 6.25 g/t; and 14 metres from 0 metres @ 1.60 g/t, including 1 metre from 0 metres @ 10.70 g/t.

The Dabia South permit is in the Senegalo-Malian shear zone, which is already host to several important gold deposits such as Fekola located only 20km to the west and Loulo at 50km north.

The Kabaya zone is oriented north-south and is traced over a strike length of 500 metres, a width of 230 metres and a depth of 80 metres. Furthermore, with the addition of the last results, the south-west extension is traced over a length of 200 metres and a width of 50 metres, also with a depth of 80 metres.

The gold-rich zone is open in all directions except towards the north where it may be shifted eastwardly according to an apparent pattern on surface which seems to move mineralized sections between 25 and 30 meters to the east progressing to the north.

Komet's president and CEO André Gagné said: "With the quality of those results, the future perspectives of our Dabia South permit are becoming more and more interesting. Consequently, we will accelerate the set-up of the next drilling campaign."
